Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Quantitative Criminology in the School of Social Sciences (SOCSI), Cardiff University (Faculty webpage). From my post, I hold dual appointments in Cardiff’s Q-Step Centre and in criminology.

I study the social dynamics inside organized crime, criminal organizations, & “criminal networks”. In general, I have three interests: to detect regularities or possible differences in the graph-theoretic properties of criminal networks; to explain the graph-theoretic properties that characterize criminal networks; and issues that pertain to sample coverage or sample error in criminal networks that originate through data collection or contact-tracing. To do so, I use “non-traditional data sources” that provide insights into organized crime (e.g., public commission reports; police evidence that originates through criminal investigations; etc.).
